Purpose
During this active, hands-on workshop, urban forestry professionals will work to understand the impacts of climate change at local scales and ways they can adapt to those changes.

This workshop is designed for municipal foresters, planners, parks managers, consulting arborists, nursery professionals, and other urban forestry professionals in the Twin Cities area that are interested in actively enhancing the ability of their forests to cope with changing conditions.

​The training is divided into two days. The first day will provide a foundation of climate change impacts and adaptation tools, while the second day will allow participants to apply information and tools to their work.

Outcomes
  • Provide information on the current and anticipated effects of climate change on the Twin Cities region and its urban forests and natural areas
  • Describe resources and tools that can be used to integrate climate change into urban forest management
  • Outline adaptation concepts and strategies in the context of sustainable forest management
  • Highlight real-world examples of adaptation projects
