June 19, 2008

Forum 10:00 - 11:00

Guest Speaker: Julie Weisenhorn, University of Minnesota, Department of Horticultural Science.

Topic: Herbaceous Perennials in the Urban Forest.

Do you want to become a more popular city forester or natural resource manager? Add some more color and interest to your community's urban forest and excite your constituents that feel an urban forest is more than trees! Julie Weisenhorn will help you integrate perennials as part of your landscape through thoughtful design and plant selection. Then, learn how to manage those gardens as sustainable resources rather than budget and back busters. Julie has been teaching garden design and perennial garden management at the University as well as the Master Gardener program for many years and promises this will be the forum that gets you even more excited about the end of winter in Minnesota.
